Budapest, one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities in Europe, was founded in
1873 after the unification of three towns – Buda, Obuda and Pest. Hilly Buda and Obuda sit on the western bank of the Danube River while flat Pest sits to the east.
The city has a very colourful history, having been settled or conquered by many civilisations and regimes including the Celtic Eravi, Romans, Turkish, Habsbergs and Communists. All have left their influences, visually with the stunning variety
of architecture and monuments on display and culturally with the wealth of music, theatre and art.

A trip to Budapest wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Parliament and its treasures. Built between 1885 and 1904, it stretches along the Pest side of the Danube between the Chain Bridge and Margaret Bridge. It has become the symbol
of Budapest, not just because of its size (18000 square metres!) but
also because of its stunning detailed decoration and interior splendour.

Budapest PoolThe Vaci Utca is the heart of Downtown Budapest. Stroll down the narrow romantic 20th Century streets and admire the Art Nouveau influence whilst taking in the unique atmosphere. Enjoy a coffee in the Gerbeaud Cafe at the far end of Vorosmarty Square where street musicians, local artists and folklore fairs make this place a must see!

Have a wonderful time in Budapest, one of the most diverse cities in Europe!
